1.11.5 View Others files bug
Win11
In the settings, I clicked the checkbox to show "Other files". It worked properly: it showed other files not related to graphics and movies. I didn't need it anymore, so I unchecked that option. The file list went back to its previous state. To my surprise, when I restarted the program, I saw these other files again. When I just went to another folder and came back, everything was back to normal.

Re: 1.11.5 View Others files bug
I'm unable to post a new thread, so I'm using this space. My software was functioning normally before, but today it encountered an error. Even after reinstalling, it still doesn't work properly. The main issue is that I can't enter numbers in the input box. It gets replaced with symbols such as greater than and less than signs. Additionally, I can't add watermarks to images normally.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

The issue has been resolved. The reason was inconsistency in language, time zone, etc. on the Windows 10 system. After unifying, everything is normal.

i've sent you a PMKadet wrote: Thu Oct 01, 2026 8:42 pm When can we expect this error to be fixed?
It's terribly irritating.
In 1.12.1 is too.

Re: 1.11.5 View Others files bug
This test version does not currently behave as it did before the bug. Although it shows files in the Downloads folder according to designated filters, it first shows all files for a split second. Since the first file of all these is not an image, when only images appear, then the first one is not shown in the preview, as it was a few versions ago before the error.
As a temporary solution, it may be possible, but ultimately I would prefer XnView to behave as it did before this bug.

Yes, it was always like that... There is a check of files before to know if the file should be shown or not...Kadet wrote: Tue Oct 06, 2026 6:46 pm Although it shows files in the Downloads folder according to designated filters, it first shows all files for a split second.
which version had not this problem?Since the first file of all these is not an image, when only images appear, then the first one is not shown in the preview, as it was a few versions ago before the error.

Re: 1.11.5 View Others files bug
I'm not sure if this wasn't a problem before, because I only used the "Other files" option just now. I wrote this only to illustrate the situation that before using this option, I had the desired behavior of the program when viewing only images.
Previously, despite the existence of other programs in front of the images, the preview of icons of other files did not flash, and I had a preview of the first image. This is how XnView behaves on the second computer, where I never used the preview option on other files.

Re: 1.11.5 View Others files bug
I would prefer it to work differently, i.e. filter the list of files before displaying them, so that I wouldn't have to click in two places. But as they say here: cancer is also a fish; so let it be.
