Hello!
I am using XnView MP on macOS and noticed an issue with hidden system files in the built-in file browser.
Issue description:
XnView MP displays hidden macOS system files (such as .localized and .DS_Store) in the file list inside folders (e.g., in ~/Downloads/), even though these files should be hidden by default on macOS.
Details:
Other third-party macOS applications (like Pixea, CapCut, etc.) correctly respect system-level file hiding and do not show .localized or .DS_Store.
Changing internal program settings regarding hidden files does not hide these system-level hidden dot-files in the browser view.
Because .localized is visible in XnView MP, it's easy to accidentally delete it, which causes macOS to lose folder localization (e.g., reverting "Загрузки" back to "Downloads").
Could you please check if the file browser filter can be updated to respect standard macOS hidden file rules or properly filter out dot-files starting with a dot (like .DS_Store and .localized)?
Thank you!

Re: [macOS] XnView MP displays hidden system files (.localized, .DS_Store) in Browser mode
Hello Pierre,
Thank you for your reply.
On the macOS version of XnView MP, there is no separate "Show hidden files" toggle in the settings. Here is a screenshot of my "Custom filter" (Пользовательский фильтр) settings:
As you can see, the file list view simply doesn't filter out dot-files like .DS_Store and .localized by default. Could we add or fix a proper system-level dot-file exclusion for macOS so these hidden files stop cluttering the browser?
Thank you!

Re: [macOS] XnView MP displays hidden system files (.localized, .DS_Store) in Browser mode
Hello Pierre,
I found the main "File list" settings page.
As you can see in the attached screenshot, "Show hidden files and folders" (Показывать скрытые файлы и папки) is unchecked, yet dot-files like .DS_Store and .localized are still visible in every directory.
Since the toggle is turned off and these files still appear, this looks like a bug in how hidden files are filtered on macOS. Could this be looked into?
Thank you!

Let's make this crystal clear. No custom filters are enabled, the catalog filter is set to "All", and nothing was manually tweaked by me. This bug arrived strictly with the recent update, period.
Stop guessing and giving irrelevant troubleshooting advice. Either provide a direct link to download the previous stable version where this worked correctly, or I am completely uninstalling this software and looking for an alternative. Fix your regression.

Here is the screenshot you asked for. As you can see, the catalog filter is set to "All", no custom rules or filters are active, and I never touched anything manually.
This behavior started strictly after the latest update. Stop asking about irrelevant settings and fix this regression in the macOS build, or give me a link to the previous stable version.
