Edit/Save IPTC

Post by vpdura »

Hello,

When I go to save IPTC data after editing it, xnView asks for the file name and wants to give the saved data an IPTC file type. I am confused by this. Other programs that I have use would write the IPTC data into the .jpg file.

Am I doing something wrong?

Think I understand the confusion. . .

I had this same question at first. In the IPTC editor, there are two buttons along the right-hand side that are labeled "load" and "save". I looks like these are to load and save the IPTC data for the picture being edited. However, it is the button at the bottom left that saves changes to the IPTC info to the picture. The buttons along the right (in the middle) should re-labeled to better describe their functionality. They should be renamed to "Load Template" and "Save Template".
