B2: "Play time" of video not updated

Post by helmut »

1. View a video (MOV, AVI, ...) in preview window.
2. Stop the video and use the slider to navigate in the video.
-> The video is updated (o.k.), but the time elapsed isn't. (bug :bug:)

Notes:
- The problem occurs in preview and view mode.
- The timer is updated as long you did not reach the maximum time.
- This bug can be seen in 1.80.3, also.

Confirmed.

When clip is only Paused, time is updated OK.

Right, but as soon as you navigate to maximum time, it will no longer update.

For me it's correct (and by design), when video is stopped, i can't show position.

I still think that this is a problem: When pausing the movie and then moving the slider, the "time elapsed" is updated properly. But when moving the slider to maximum time, it does not update anymore.
This is inconsistent and buggy and does not fit to what you describe in your above answer.

Well, in b3 I cannot confirm the problem with updating time after slider is moved to most right position. I can move it back and forth and the time is updated.

Time not displayed if clip is stopped- I consider it another programmatical issue, that should not make it into application design. Not only "big" features, but also details decide about application reception...

I confirm helmut's problem in rc1 for time reset when dragging slider to far right.
I have to start dragging when clip is played (not paused) to see that effect.

I also consider lack of time update when dragging a bug- fe. Windows Media Played can do it.
