Add "Metadata" (from menu > edit > metadata) to the context menu or/and add buttons "Set comment", "Edit IPTC", "Edit EXIF?" and "Copy IPTC/EXIF", "Export..." to Properties dialog. There buttons could be on first tab or/and on e.g. IPTC tab - 'edit IPTC'.
It would be clearer, just press Alt+Enter / choose Properties, see any information you need and change it immediately with the button.
