Entering a folder with shortcut to wav file automatically plays it.
0. Use thumbnails.
1. Items displayed- use only folders and images.
2. Start Xnview in C:\parent\
3. Place shortcut to "wav" sound file in C:\parent\short
4. Enter C:\parent\short by selecting folder icon.
5. *wav file automatically plays even though it has not been selected.

Shorcut is first/only file. This will be difficult to recreate.xnview wrote:Which files do you have in your subfolder? The wav is the first file?marsh wrote:Entering a folder with shortcut to wav file automatically plays it.

a. Use shortcut to wav as first or only file in directory.
b. Recognize only by extension- OFF
c. Show thumbnail for file shortcut OFF.
d. Use thumbnails.
e. Now shortcut to wav is briefly displayed & previewed before filter options take effect.
I reported this because I was worried about potential risk. The good news is that shortcuts to EXE, BAT are only previewed in hex mode automatically (not run).
It looks harmless because shortcut is previewed and not launched really.
