JPEG-LS output

Post by Lesnik »

Hello, Pierre! I respect you for developing and supporting such a rich-functional free viewer (and separately for Russian language pack).
Your PNG and JPEG-2000 lossless converters are quite efficient in output size. But when I wanted to compare theese formats with JPEG-LS, I foud that there aren't such a feature. :( As far as I know, JPEG-LS is rather perspective and appeared not so long ago - would you intend to support JPEG-LS output in further versions?

Perhaps later...

JPEG-LS is a pretty obscure format, is only supported by a few progs, and is unlikely to become much more popular. Other lossless formats equal or surpass it's abilities, and have much greater popularity and compatibility. Additionally, some formats (such as JPEG2000) actually use the JPEG-LS coding within them.

Indeed, I'm having trouble finding so much as 1 single freeware program that can create a jpeg-ls image.
