XnView v1.80.3 crashes on tif image

Post by fandrew »

Hi!

Just run into a tif image which crashes XnView v1.80.3. It's surely a corrupted image: the second half of the file is missing. I'm not sure, maybe has some other corrupt data, but Windows Picture and Fax Viewer has no problem showing it up.
Download original image here (2.8MB):
http://www.trendnet.com/asp/download_ma ... iFile=5011
(Second product image on this page:
http://www.trendnet.com/asp/download_ma ... YPE_ID=692)

I've created a 150KB version, which is just enough to crash XnView:

(I suspect XnView would crash on the full image as well, cause there are no glitches 'at 150KB' on the original picture.)

Anyway, XnView rocks! :)
Bye, Andrew

:) Hello !

1. I can confirm that your TIF file crashes XnView in 1.82 final.
- The error is located in the used DLL <ntdll.dll> - Version : 5.1.2600.1106 @ offset : 00042109

2. The PDF sample does't work at all, because XnView is unable to find GhostScript, although it's installed, but in another hard-disk of the same PC. It might scan all disks, I guess, this is a misfeature…
- That sample works fine here in “Foxit®” viewer, though, which doesn't care at all of Ghostscript …
- Under XP-Pro SP1

 Kind regards,
Claude

I get a "TIFF : Bad LZW Codes !" when I try open the sample TIFF image from xplorer2 pro.

XnView creates a black thumbnail for it and crashes when trying to open it from Browser mode.

XnView ShellEx crashes my file manager "xplorer2 pro" wonderfully when trying to create a thumbnail of it!
