Hi all,
I've just downloaded XNview 1.70 rel. It rocks!
But I'm getting an annoying thing about switching between Browser and View mode.
When I view image and then I come back to the browser, the browser window it's different by width / height than previous.
I've tried some different settings in the Option menu under VIEW and I see differences switching between browser / view.
So i guess that XNview is missing another option like "Save browser dimension/window" or something like that ...
Or maybe I'm missing something ... so what?
Thanks for any help / info.

Perhaps you have option/view/Force XnView...dsp_418 wrote:I've just downloaded XNview 1.70 rel. It rocks!

if i understood well it's the same problem i have when i'm viewing one or more pictures in fullscreen mode and i switch between xnview windows with CTRL+TAB keys -> the screen becomes dirty (pictures and browser rendering overlap) and all windows are resized.
i hope that could be useful!
my workaround: don't use the CTRL+TAB keys

Thanks for your reply Pierre.
Anyway the problem is not solved.
Let me to explain better.
What I'm trying to get is to have the same browser window dimensions either I'll open a small picture or a big picture.
Follow my examples steps:
1 - Browser window, select one image and open it
2 - For example the image is 640 x 480 and I see the image without any exceeding boundaries (Force Xnview ...)
3 - Now go back to the browser and open another image
4 - This time the image is 1280 x 400
5 - Go back to the browser. Now the browser is 1280 px!
That's the problem. And the layout is changed as well. I mean that the preview pane is smaller / bigger (it depends of the image opened). The same happens for the explorer tree and so on ...
Hope this time I've explained it better ... sorry.

On which Windows platform are you working?dsp_418 wrote: ...

How do you go back to the browser? By closing the window via system menu, or by menu 'File->Close' double clicking on the image?
Could you please send your .ini file to Pierre and me or upload it on a webserver and place a link here?

XnView is a Windows MDI application (Multiple Document Interface), with several child windows (Browser window, Image window(s)) in one parent window. Pressing CTRL+Tab will toggle from one child window to the next.ijustdiscoveredthiswonder wrote:if i understood well it's the same problem i have when i'm viewing one or more pictures in fullscreen mode and i switch between xnview windows with CTRL+TAB keys -> the screen becomes dirty (pictures and browser rendering overlap) and all windows are resized.

my workaround: don't use the CTRL+TAB keys
When pressing CTRL+Tab in Full screen mode, XnView does not switch back to normal (non-fullscreen) mode and thus the whole display is dodgy/dirty.
So at the moment you really shouldn't use CTRL+Tab in Fullscreen mode. Now that your problem is clear, perhaps Pierre can work on this.
dsp_418: Do you also use CTRL+Tab for switching back to the browser?
