Slideshow in 1.82.2 Win - bug or feature?

Post by Mac from Germany »

Hi there,

I have encountered a strange behaviour in slide show. When I start it with the timer slides are shown in the order of the window where they have been added.
When I just switch to "on click" method, slide show starts with the first picture, then shows the last in the list and continues ascending from the bottom.
Why is this?
I have not toggled random mode, just loop - but all options not changed except for "timer" to "on click".

Where am I gotten wrong? Is this a bug?
How can I get to standard descending order also in on click mode?

Thanx, mac

Check your version No.
I have tried this with 1.68 from 2004, Feb, where it worked well.
After this installed the recent version where the same bunch of pictures were sorted the wrong way (i.e. img_1021, img_1025, img_1024, img_1023, img_1022) while in on mouse click mode.
Times operation works well with the correct order (1021, 1022, 1023, 1024, 1025).

Pls help!

Thanx, Mac

Still can't confirm, also with default settings.

Try to rename xnview.ini file, but close xnview first.

I've tried everything, updated to most recent version (1.82.2) from Server 2, installed, deleted .ini file - still the same problem here.
W2KSP4 and WXPHSP2 on two different machines.

So I have tried myself on four machines in the whole.

Can't explain to myself so I gues it has to be a bug??!!

Anyway would be great to hear some other users or even the author to that issue...
I have several customers using XnView, all of them were asking the same question about the slide show.

Thanx, Mac

Strange. Could you write exact steps to reproduce this bug please (also filenames, if you use a mouse or keyboard...)?

Are the files in Slide show dialog list in correct order?

Are you using .sld file or you just select files in xnview and choos Slide show?

Maybe you are using old .sld file that is incompatible??

Using RMB should go forwards. If you use LMB, it can go backwards instead of exiting under circumstances I have listed in link below- along with other problems.

Sorry to ask: what means RMB/LMB, how do I use it?

Typical RTFM issue? I had never thought that a right click (aka context menu key) would navigate through a slide show.
Learning is life long...

Thanx all for your help!
