Colored highlight for active tab [with visuals]...

Post by TsunamiZ »

Please add a colored highlight to active tab, for a clear and easy to see indication of the active tab. So users can see and work more efficiently in a multitab environment. Thanks.

Sample before and after comparison of the concept:

:) Hi !

- I support ! Though I don't use the XP-themes, the active tab is difficult to distinguish too…
- To complete your request, I'ld wish that the highlighting colour be configurableImage

Tzunami, thank you for your suggestion and sample. The idea of colouring the tabs for easier recognition is o.k.. But as you can see in your sample, the visual 3D impression is lost when colouring the whole tab. So in no case the whole tab must be coloured. What we could do is colour the very top of the tab, similar to FireFox.

Or maybe the color of the text. But i actually think it's fine the way it is.

OK, so I added a 3D an no 3D versions for you to compare. I tend to like the no 3D version a bit more [clearer to the eyes to me].

You know TsunamiZ, you could just download the latest beta version and see yourself or at least read the beta changes log, instead of posting in all the topics asking progress reports.

And to answer your question (Cause I like your requests)... Yes this feature have been implemented in the 1.90 beta. But now please go at least to read the beta changes log.

maybe that announcement should update saying beta instead of alpha then

btw: based on your experience, does the beta crash a lot? does it harm files?

No, it won't crash your system or at least others haven't reported anything like that and neither have I.
There is no file corruption or deleted files.

I recommend installing XnView 1.90 beta 1 into a seperate folder if you're worried about it's stability and keep XnView 1.82.4 final installed.

Getting back to the topic:
I would like to see inactive tabs have "light creme" colour and active tabs can keep the "light blue" colour.
