Automatic filter for thumbnail view

I just had this idea:

In the browser's thumbnail view, XNView will first try tro create a thumbnail for every file, and afterwards it automatically hides all the files that it couldn't extract a thumbnail from.

This command could be put into the 'filter' or the 'view as' menu.

Thoughts?

For example, yes. But also having a quick way to make the best use of the thumbnail view without the need to (re-)configure the "shown files" options dialog.

Making a feature for damaged files could only have sense if damaged files are common. I think this is not the case. How many of your media files are damaged and you keep them?

You still didn't write when one could make use of such option. Why predefined filters don't work for you?

What do you mean by files for which thumbnails cannot be created. Fe., are icons extracted from EXE a proper thumbnail or not? MOV thumbnails are not currently supported, should MOV files be hidden?

I didn't even think of that before you mentioned it actually. It wasn't my main intention.

Like i said: ease of use. The use of the thumbnail view is to see small previews of all your media files in order to manage them more easily. What's easier than having the program automatically hide all files it couldn't build thumbnails from?

Icons are icons, and thumbnails are thumbnails. So icons != thumbnails. I do get MOV thumbnails btw. but no preview.

Often in a series of images, some are damaged, but you don't necessarily want to delete them.

I've been thourougly confused using xnview expecting to see certain images that don't show up. Xnview finds them damaged - sometimes for obvious reasons, but sometimes it isn't apparent why xnview has an issue with them. I vote for a 'show everything' approach - let us delete or deal with damaged images manually rather than hiding them as if they don't exist. Maybe even a small icon or something that states an image or media file is bad.
