- Do you mean that simply to show the tab-button (just a command) needs to have the browser open in another thread ?

But it would be nice for users to have an option to always have browser tab open. And have that tab be browsing the folder the file was opened.

Yes, but it's inconvenient if the user already specified XnView to always start with browser tab and it doesn't always do that.
