Selection inside of a selection ?

Hi.

If I have selected a part of the image and zoom into and then want to zoom again by making a new selection, I figured, that I cannot make a new selection inside of the current selection.
If I click outside of the selection, it will start a new selection.

Is that intended ?
Right now If I have zoomed in by selection, I have to first go to edit/select none, before I can zoom in again on a smaller selection that the first one.
