SE: Options to xnview Options window
Since Shell extension is a part of xnview, Shell extension options could be in xnview Options window. There could be also an option to disable/enable Shell extension quickly.
Re: SE: Options to xnview Options window
That's not possible, because some of the time you have to "log off" Windows to get Windows to stop using the DLL. I admit this doesn't happen with every version of Windows but it does happen!Dreamer wrote:Since Shell extension is a part of xnview, Shell extension options could be in xnview Options window. You mean just this is not possible, right?ckit wrote:That's not possible, because some of the time you have to "log off" Windows to get Windows to stop using the DLL. What about just hide it / remove all items form context menu?
And - what about first part of my suggestion?

Yes, correct.Dreamer wrote:You mean just this is not possible, right?

I'm not sure I see the point in hiding it / removing it from the context menu.
The first part is fine.

OK, never mind, I'll start another topic with another suggestion...ckit wrote:Yes, correct.Dreamer wrote:You mean just this is not possible, right?

OK. I'll suggest more options, so it would be better (but not too much). The first part is fine.

It is possible with Win XP - more here (your hintckit wrote:That's not possible, because some of the time you have to "log off" Windows to get Windows to stop using the DLL. For example, in ZIP version, you can't install Shell Extension without that hint (above). Another reason, user cannot disable / uninstall it now (link).ckit wrote:I'm not sure I see the point in hiding it / removing it from the context menu.
And sometimes you need it and sometimes don't - e.g. in explorer / file manager with thumbnails view it's not needed, but in list / details view it is needed.
