XnView forgets width of tree pane (1.70.3)

Post by damago »

Sorry for re-submitting but I had to change the subject from 1.70.2 to 1.70.3. Does anyone else experience such behaviour?

when I view picture (view mode) and then switch to browser mode (via icon in the left upper corner) I see very narrow directory tree in the upper left part, large icon area on the right. I move it to the right to see more of the directory name, when I switch to view mode (double click one of the icons) and then back to browser view the tree view pane is narrow again. It seams that xnview remembers the hight of the preview pane (horisontal split between tree view and preview window) but forgets the vertical split position (between tree/preview and icon area). It seams to be valid in all layouts.
In the three columns layout XNView forgets both vertical split positions and both tree view and icon area windows are very small with a huge preview window on the right.

The registry TreeView is 0x68 and PreviewWidth always 0x60 after evey program exit /start and mode switch between View and Browse.

I am sure previous version did remember the position correctly.

this happens only in full screen mode....

Ha! I have found that the above described error (forgetting the pane sizes) occurs only if XNView window is maximized. Workaround:

* switch from maximized to windowed
* set the vertical & horizontal split positions
* maximize window

now the new positions are fixed

You can always ask the moderators or forum admins for such a change. Also you can be sure that each post is read thoroughly and changes are made if needed. I have removed your other topic.

I have not the problem, when switching from browser to the view mode (by clicking on thumbnail), and back to the browser (ESC), all panes are with the same size. Which layout do you use?

the effect has disapeared after switching from full screen..

Post by damago »

After switching from fullscreen, setting width of the tree panel and then going fullscreen back the effect has disapeared. Now I can go to fullscreen mode, go back to browser and the pane divisors are in the same place I left them before. A bit strange. I have found other people having the same problem somewhere else in the board. I cannot repeat this effect now. BTW the effect was resistant to quitting the application / re-entering it etc. Appeared immediately after upgrade from earlier version and disapeared after first switch from fullscreen to windowed mode. Maybe after upgrade some information on windowed/fullscreen condition was lost. No guess.

For me it's done, works okay now.
