How to I optimise images for the web?

Post by cdgeorge »

I would like to be able to optimise images for the web beyong just being able to resize them. I cannot find any options in XnView to select 'progressive' in order to show the user the picture is loading; or even the option to lower the quality of the JPG which all helps to reduce the size of the image file on the Internet.

In Tools > Options > Write > GIF you can set "Interlaced" and in "Tools > Options > Write > JPG" you can set progressive. When saving an image, you can reach those options pages quickly by choosing the format you want and then clicking "Options" in the options dialog.
