problem with subfolders of hidden folders

Post by revell »

I don't know if it's a bug or a feature ;) but if I hide a folder (in my case on the desktop) and access it with XnView I cann't access the subfolders through the "Explorer Window" of XnView. (The little plus that usually shows that a folder includes subfolder disappears thus I cann't open subfolders anymore.)
I activated the "Show hidden files" checkbox in the options but the only way I can access subfolders is through the "thumbnail window".
This is rather unpractical if I want to move files and have to many files inside a folder to see the file to move and the subfolder on one screen. In this case one has to be really quick or open a second XnView window. ;)

(I use XnView 1.82.4 on Windows XP SP2)

In the windows explorer, do you show hidden files?
Pierre.

part confirmed- Folder tree never displays hidden subfolders.
It displays c:\hidden. Not c:\in\hidden

A possibly related hidden subfolder problem is reported here:

:) Hello B. !

- Same here, whether both folder and its sub-forder have the "h" attribute, only the folder is displayed in the tree, while they are visible i.e. in Total Commander "Tree"…

:)Desktop” in not a normal folder, it's a virtual one, so it does not behave like other directories, and personally, I avoid to use it as an usal dir., because all handlings are not possible, and it causes a lot of issues…
