Clearing the memory on a portable Nixvue hard drive.

Post by CBarrington »

I need some help cleaning out the memory of a portable hard drive, specifically a 40GB Nixvue Digital Album 2.

When I click on "disk space," it shows only 12.54 free space, with 68% used.

I tried deleting file by file, but it no longer will let me do that. Seems I'm down to system files with cannot be deleted.

I've also connected the Nixvue to my desktop where it becomes the I-Drive. All files were shown, and I deleted them completely on my desktop screen. Nixvue obediently hummed away for a few seconds, and I thought all was well.

However, it still shows only 12.54 free space, with 68% used on the hard drive.

Is reformatting a possibility? If so, is that done via my desktop computer? If I reformat, would I also lose the basic system files that make the Nixvue work?

Any suggestions or comments welcome.

Thanks, Carol Barrington
