LiteShell incompatibility

Post by efx »

XnView 1.82.4 crashes on my system (WinXP Home SP1) whenever I run a slide show, place a loaded text cursor from the Image > Add text dialog, create a contact print, or strip of images.

Then I found out that if I exited LiteShell, which is my shell replacement for WinXP shell, everything goes fine.

What is strange is that I've had crashes with XnView every other version. Version 1.78 was okay, then 1.8 had problems, then 1.81 was okay, now 1.82.4 has problems.

It didn't occur to me in the previous versions that LiteShell might be the culprit. What I can't understand is why the problems resurface every other version???

Where LiteShell can be found?
And you have no problems with other programs?

LiteShell incompatibility

Post by efx »

Yes, that's the Website of the LiteShell author. No, I don't experience problems with other programs.

I figured that on another computer I work on, which doesn't run LiteShell, I never experience problems. So I tried turning off LiteShell, and found out the crashes stopped.

Please don't anyone out there tell me to give up one or the other. I like both, and will continue to use both XnView and Liteshell.
