Hi,
viewing pictures made by a Fuji F30 in XnView, I noted that it is sometimes not possible from XnView's Exif data display to deduct the scenery program mode. XnView will display the mode correctly in both fields 'SzenenAufnahmetyp' and 'Bildprogramm' (German version of XnView), e.g., for the sunset mode, but not for snow mode, nor for most other modes. For the latter, 'Szenen-Aufnahmetyp' is always 'Standard (0)', whereas 'Bildprogramm' is always just 'Unknown'.
Someone pointed out to me that the F30 (and almost every other compact camera) is using non-standard descriptions for many scenery modes (standard EXIF field, but per standard non-defined codes). I understand that XnView cannot know for all camera models the meaning of each code, but you should perhaps display the number of the unknown code in brackets behind the 'unknown', just as you do for many other Exif fields. Camera owners can then make a test shot in each mode and thus find out which number corresponds with which code.
Thank you & Best Regards,
malamut

Ok, right, perhaps a good information...malamut wrote:Hi,
