WMF File Conversion

Post by Finchwizard »

G'day,

Grabbed a copy of XnView, brilliant program I'd just like to say first. Extremely good, I love it.

Ok, here's the thing, I've managed to extract all the Clipart from Microsoft Office, into the proper categories.

Seeing as WMF is Vector based, it should be able to get as big as it wants.

What I am trying to do is make an Online Clipart Server, but just for Intranet use.

And the album generators that I have found so far. Will not work with WMF Files, and if they do the album generator is not very good.

So, I was going to convert them all into GIFs and it'll make it quite easy, but here's where the trouble comes in, I can not get these WMFs to resize to somewhere about 800x800 size without getting LOTS of jagged lines and the quality just going down the drain...

Is there some trick that I can get these to resize to whatever size I want, save them as GIF with them still looking good.

Even if you view properties on the WMF File, it says it's 1800x1700 res....yet when opened in XnView it says that the file is only 320x280 or something really small..

Can anyone help?

Regards,
Finchwizard

BTW - I also searched through these forums, didn't see anything like this with a way to do it.

Minus the nospam of course :)

I'll try and check back here if I can tomorrow, just really busy.

Yeah, in most apps its small.

But it's a vector image, which can be scaled to any size without loosing info.

Yet when in other apps, you zoom in and it just pixelates something fierce.

If you can get it working in XnView properly that would be great.
Otherwise do you know of another app that can do batch converts and handle WMFS fine?

Not sure.......

It would be a handy option.......is there a way to easily update it and replace a file or stick a filter on my end to get it working?

It's a pretty important project I'm doing.
