viewing 12 bit image file
we use 12 bit image files and would love to use XnView to display the imagery but your current version only supports 8 bit files. it sure would be nice to pull up a 2016 x 2016 x12 file format. is this something that can be done?
thanks.

It's probably a RAW format not yet handled by XnView (there are actually many different RAW formats, specific to each system) => what system/camera does it come from?Zellis wrote:the format is RAW black&white 12 bits
I won't be able to help you much, but you may try to update this thread next week, as Pierre (author of XnView) is currently on holiday. He usually needs a sample to implement a new format...
(and more people may try to help meanwhile if you make the file available as suggested by Drahken)

Which extension ?
—> ZELLIS
Hello !
• From your link, I got a file <good> without any extension 8,128,512 bytes…
- Please, let me know what that file is exactly, I can't attempt to open it currently, I'll go certainly to a failure… TIA
Note : in XnView, I see only a tiny image 12*14 "24 BPP"

I zipped the file to 52KB here. It's a specific "raw" 12 bits grey image that should be displayed as follow:

(provided by Zellis, as I couldn't view correctly this raw file)

- The RAW file from your ZIP is fancy displayed as a 256*256 24 BPP here…
…while the size is reported as 7.75 Mib (that is correct) :

• Zooming in, you can see "virtual" colours, while the pic might content only "Greys"
