adding text direct to an image

Is it possible to do this please I have been trying to do this from the image menu i e add text but to no avail if it is possible to do, could you help please if it is not possible then thanks for your patience

Press Shift+T in View mode, or Ctrl+U and <Right> in Browser (for batch convert).

what i should be saying is i am doing what you suggest but text is not being added what am i not doing wrong

What way do you use? Can you see any dialog? Maybe you should change size, it can be very small on large images...

Thanks for trying to help, i have probably got all this wrong but i open an image click on image in the tool bar then on add text type in the text set the font to 24 and nothing seems to happen, have i got it all wrong

Try again, just open image in window (not fullscreen), press Shift+T - can you see "Add text to image" dialog? If so, change font to very large (>48), orange color and press OK, move the cursor and left click to paste it.

Thanks that was the answer i had been selecting ms sans serif as choice and the text size only went up to 24 and i just was not seeing it in the image.
