Now with the tags in the browser, there is another info box and the browser might look like this (#1 top left):
I think the tag boxes at the top of each thumbnail make the browser and it's thumbnail look a bit bumpy and unclean. I'd suggest to move the tag box to the bottom, where the other info icons are located.
The tag boxes at the bottom would look like this (#2 bottom left):

I don't agree for the following reasons:
- Separating Action(Tag/Untag) from Information(EXIF, etc...) provides an indication to the user that he can interact with that tagbox and it is easier to read quickly.
- EXIF + IPTC + Embedded Thumbnail + EXIF rotation is already quite crowded at the bottom.

I see your point. What about positioning the checkbox at the bottom right? The info stuff would start from bottom left (just like it is now).
I've made a draft with the tags at bottom right and the info icons bottom left aligned (#3 bottom left and right design):
The tag boxes at the bottom right are located well, since it's sort of intuitive to place a mark under a document on the bottom right (At least for people reading from left to right).
Personally I'd go for the #4 all bottom right aligned solution with tag boxes at the most right, this would like this:
In this approach #4, "info" and "action" is NOT seperated, but all the info icons are gathered nicely and can be seen easily.
