2 things to be exact:
- support for making archives from within xnview (don't think it's necessary to have it support tons of compression formats, maybe rar, zip, one encription format (I for one still use .sef from acdsee but I'll easily switch to any other), and one that has good compression for image files (not sure of it's name, maybe cab?).
- support for browsing these archives when they are password protected (I'm guessing this is allready planed, but it doesn't seem to work for now)
just one other little thing I've noticed (not a bug, but kind of an "annoying" feature): after opening an archive in xnview, browsing it and then say doubleclicking on one image in the archive it shows it maximised (as it should), but then when you double-click on the image again I expect to be brought back to the archive where I started from (back to browser mode where I left of). Instead I'm in the middle of a /temp folder. I understand that this may be the logical place to be (as the archive must be extracted somwhere in order to browse it), but it would make browsing archives a lot faster and more pleasant if the browser returned to the place it started from after doubleclicking a maximised image.
Hope you understand what I meant. If anything's unclear tell me and I'll try to explain further.
Cheers
Great job on the archive support. Few things missing, though

Archiver
Does XNview have it ???Great job on the archive support

XNview an archiver ?support for making archives from within xnview

RAR creation is NOT possible for license reasons.(don't think it's necessary to have it support tons of compression formats, maybe rar

Hmmm.... standard ZIP maybezip, one encription format
"Encription" of ZIP is poor ... 7-ZIP needed for safe encryption.
For uncompressed ones (BMP, TIF): 7-ZIPgood compression for image files (not sure of it's name, maybe cab?)
For compressed ones (PNG, GIF, JPG ,JP2): None (incompressible !)

Maybe TAR or ZIP with compression OFF

Is it ?support for browsing these archives when they are password protected (I'm guessing this is allready planed

There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.
Re: Archiver
I disagree, just install any free archiver, then just ctrl + right clik in xnview.support for making archives from within xnview

I agree, most users pack images to protect them.support for browsing these archives when they are password protected (I'm guessing this is allready planed
