Is there a way to simply create a new image from clipboard?

Post by TextureJunky »

Hi there. I make a lot of tutorials for various things due to al the custom homebrew software we use in our company. To do this I often use screenshots. At themoment i print the window to clipboard, load up photoshop, paste it into photoshop and then save the image.

I was woundering if there is a way in XnView to create a new image based on the clipboard data? This would be cool as XnView is so lightweight compared to photoshop, withc is overkill for such a task.

Thanks for your help

Yes, you can import image - View mode > Edit > Import Clipboard.

It could be even easier, check my suggestion here.

Ahhh, thanks man. I didn't know about that.. cheers.

yar in Acdsee if you just Ctr+v it will open a frame the size of the clipboard and put it in but XnView blows that away in many other ways.

Thanks for the tip btw.

I've been saying for ages that ctrl+v should paste the clipboard in xnview as it does in every other program, but apparently it's already assigned to something else. However, you can still do the same thing by adding the shift key, ie: SHIFT+CTRL+V to paste the clipboard into xnview.
