Acronyms help

I must be showing a great deal of ignorance, but just what do the acronyms "iptc" and "exif" stand for. I cannot find an explanation anywhere.

• Good question, I found replies on “Yahoo !” easily :

IPTC = International Press and Telecommunications Council

EXIF = EXchangeable Image File.

- Unfortunately for you, the page I found is pretty nice, but in French…
- Just type "IPRC" in a search engine, and you'll get legion of links
