Ratings: Show rating
For tags we have "View > Tags > Show Tags". So I wonder whether there should be "View > Rating > Show ratings".
I would find this consistent. Though I'm not sure whether this is useful for ratings and whether this would be really used. By default "Show ratings" would be "on".

You guys speak about the same thing: Context menu is the menu that (sometimes) appears when right-clicking on objects/items.Troken wrote:I don't know what a context menu is.xnview wrote:What do you means by right click? context menu?Feel like an amateur, he he.
Perhaps when "Show rating" is off, the rating could dissappear in the context menu, too. This would keep the context menu clean for those people that do not use rating at all.
Yes, but if tags & rating are on, the popup menu will be very bighelmut wrote:You guys speak about the same thing: Context menu is the menu that (sometimes) appears when right-clicking on objects/items.Troken wrote:I don't know what a context menu is.xnview wrote:What do you means by right click? context menu?Feel like an amateur, he he.

Hm, indeed, the context menu is quite long...maybe there is a way to visually show which group is doing what. Eg. bold titles "file actions", "mass actions", "image tools" etc. on top of each group or vertically on the left margin. Or color code them together with a background image. Or place icons left of must used stuff, so a cisor is front of cut etc. (same applies to the menu). Or something in that way - depending on what is how difficult to implement.Olivier_G wrote:Ha ha.... time for more cleaning!!!

Implemented in Beta 5... but there is no 'checked' sign on the left of the menu item when active.helmut wrote:there should be "View > Rating > Show ratings"

I think the ideal solution would be to click on the Rating symbol of the thumbnail to bring a graphical pop-up and select rating (therefore a 'no rating' symbol would be needed =>Troken wrote:But I mean, if you right-click a thumbnail, you should be able to rate the image there.

Graphical menu in context menu?Olivier_G wrote:I think the ideal solution would be to click on the Rating symbol of the thumbnail to bring a graphical pop-up and select rating (therefore a 'no rating' symbol would be needed =>Troken wrote:But I mean, if you right-click a thumbnail, you should be able to rate the image there.). Is that possible for 1.90, Pierre?
Pierre.
Yes, very good but postpone pleaseOlivier_G wrote:Here is what I had in mind:xnview wrote:Graphical menu in context menu?
(you left-click on the rating symbol of the thumbnail -> rating popup appears and you select new rating)
But I would recommend to postpone this feature... and consider other issues mentionned instead.
Pierre.
Fixed in Beta 6.Olivier_G wrote:there is no 'checked' sign on the left of the menu item "Show ratings" when activated.
