I feel sheepish asking such a basic question, but I have mucked around trying to create a thumbnail in ver 1.61 and I can't understand what is going on.
I want to post a thumbnail on a message board of an image that is 900 X 658 X 24. Preferably I would like it about 25% of the original, but any thumbnail size will do.
I am completely self-taught onthe computer, I am not sure what a shell extensioin is. I have searched under "create thumbnail" but the questions seem to involve specific applications of thumbnails.
I don't seem to have a working hekp file, when I search in the XnView folder it shows something wrong with it.
Any simple instructions on making a thumbnail would be appreciated. Thank you.

Anything prevents you from using 1.82.4 ?trying to create a thumbnail in ver 1.61
"Image" -> "Resize" for 1.82.4, no idea about 1.61.
There is indeed no WinZIP under my rock.
