can't watch avi thumbnails

Hi, i use xnview since long time ago, but only for images, now i use it too to find quickly videos, the problem is that I can't watch the thumbnails of avi files, it shows strange green bars over black background i watch perfectly .wmv,.mpg and others video thumbnails, but no avi. I have the last ffdshow codecs installed and it is the only codecs i use to watch videos, no divx installed. any suggestion? thanks
