1. Close folder tree entry: "My Computer".
2. A 'No Disk in drive A: dialog' appears. (floppy).
3. Select <cancel>.
4. *It crashes often.
Similar (and easier to see):
1. Be in details view, but have no items in focus (highlighted blue).
2. Close "My computer" folder tree (change the [-] to [+].
3. *Crash.
b3: Close "My computer" crashes.

I confirm (in German "My Computer" is "Arbeitsplatz"). -> Confirmed
Note:
If you select a drive (e.g. C:) and then close "My Computer" the folder tree builds up strangly. Perhaps this is related.

Hello !• Here, I'm prompted to insert a disk in the “D” drive (CD here) which is not selected, but no crash (yet).
• Then, when I open a folder and click on a thumbnail, I get a Bill's message and I'm bound to close…
