Folder thumbnail

Post by pdavit »

Cannot find the option which displays the big folder icon which encapsulates
the 4 small sample images of its contents.

That was already checked without the effect. Is this a bug then! Was working fine in beta 3 and I thought another option was missing.

I see 4 in 1 thumbnails. Not for JP2s though (seperate problem?).

Nothing at all

Post by Clo »

:) Hi B. !

• I confirm here again :
- I have not any thum nail on the folders in the thmb nails board !
¤ I tested with *.ico files, and there are a lot of folders¦sub-folders
¤ Folders are enabled in "Items Displayed", of course.

Note : BTW, you have moved the pdavit's separate bug report to “Closed…” ? :?

2 for 1 !

Post by Clo »

:) Solved, because there are two options @ two locations for the same thing !

• One needs also Options >>> Browser >>> File list >>> Items displayed >>> Tick the box in the column “Show as thumbnail” for Folders !
Paul "Ouistiti" discovered this and asked for I report it here.

- This is totally confusing, I think that as soon as the other option (on my pic above) is ticked,
then this one in Items displayed might be ticked too automatically… or might not exist !
- So, there is at least a misfeature which needs to be fixed up.

If you disable that, 1 large picture is displayed instead of 4.

Inconsistent

Post by Clo »

:) When the tick-box is disabled in the Items Displayed >> Show as thumbnail, I get nothing on the folders, same @ Paul's - that is normal - but why is the option in Browser >> Thumb nail … able to be enabled ? It might be greyed, since no thumbnail is displayed according to the other setting !

:P So, there is a bug¦mess¦misfeature anyway. This is inconsistent.

No, if you disable that you don't get an images at all. Unless 1 means the
folder icon and not 1 image inside the folder icon.

So, Clo is right! It is still a bit confusing.

Maybe XnView should force select “Show as thumbnail” for Folders when a user
checks "Show 4 thumbnails in folder" cause otherwise the latter is non functional
without the former.

Do you have Options>File List>Items displayed> Folders checked in both "Show item in view as thumbnails" and "Show as thumbnail" columns?
