Odd flaw in some export settings (going beyond maximum)

Post by Drahken »

(I noticed this in B3, haven't tried older versions yet, but considering the history of similar problems, I suspect it's been there ever since xnview deluxe.)
Open an image, export it. On the export screen, go to any field that allows you to type in numbers and is supposed to have a maximum limit, type in many "9"s. Strange things will occur (exact results vary depending on the field in question).
Examples:
JPEG quality field. Should max out at 100. Up to 9999 just results in maximum quality, but 99999 results in minimum quality.
JPEG smoothing field. Should max out at 9. A value of 99 results in extreme smoothing, 999 results in wierd lines & noise (almost like an edge detect or embossing filter), from 4 through 9 "9"s results in increasing noise, 10 "9"s or more results in no smoothing.
PNG compression field. Up to 9999 has no apparent effect (equivalent to just 9), but 99999 and up results in error messages about not being able to save a temp file.
JPEG2000 quality field. Should max out at 100. A value of 999 through 999999999 (9 "9"s) results in quality lower than 1, 10 "9"s and up results in quality equal to a setting of 1.
JPEG2000 compression rate (has additional bug of working backwards, higher value is supposed to result in lower quality, see other thread). Maximum unknown (100? no maximum? not sure). A value of 99 through 9999 results in maximum quality, 99999 and up is the same as if the value were 0.

This problem seems to effect Batch Convert.
Export looks fixed.
----------->Confirmed.
