test-EXE with "Import Clipboard" bug?

Post by Clo »

 Pierre

:) Hello !

• The test-EXE you sent me works now OK about the issue of backgrounds colours (when the focus is lost).

• But in this test-version, I find out again the bug of the “Import Clipboard” which the button remains disabled when you capture a window in XnView itself (for instance : an Option page).

- This bug was there till ß-2¦3, but fixed up in the released ß-4.
- So, I guess you did use a ß-2¦3 copy to build this test-EXE, didn't you ?

For example, you are in View mode, you select Edit/Copy, and the icon for import is not enabled?

From itself

:) Hi !

• No, just if you capture any window in the programme itself (or elswhere) via Alt+PrintScreen -that I do the most times- …
- In this case, the button remains disabled.
- “Copy” makes the button enabled as expected.

• The bug is in ß-5 now again…

What ?

Post by Clo »

:) What do you mean exactly ? You can't detect an image put in the Clipboard with Alt+PrintScreen ?

- Or you can't reproduce the issue ?
- Simply :
1. Open XnView without any file, and be sure you have copied some text in the Clipboard before.
2. The button is greyed, normal.
3. Open the Options, any page
4. Strike Alt+PrintScreen
5. Close the Options window : The button is still greyed, while there is an image in the Clipboard !
- “Import Clipboard” in the “File” menu is enabled like it should, hence the image is detected !

• So, why not the button? It worked OK in the ß-4 public release, then no more in the test-version and in ß-5…
- Please, notice that there is the same issue when you capture any window in Windows
via Alt+PrintScreen, while XnView is open.

NOTE : BTW, a command "Clear Clipboard" should be welcome to perform such tests and in the usuals jobs too… 8)

Confirmed !

To get the actived button (not greyed) a CTRL+R is alas necessary.

:) Hi Paul !

• Thanks to confirm. I ought say that here, Ctrl+R does nothing, it worked once in ten times, while F5 never works…

Menu are updated before to be opened, but the toolbar i can't update it all the time, toolbar is updated after an action...

To enable---

Post by Clo »

:) These keys don't work in View here like Paul Ouistiti says above to get that the Import Clipboard button turns “enabled”.

• Another oddness :
- If you strike Alt+PrintScreen or only PrintScreen in the browser, then close it, the button in View is enabled.

- But directly in View, it remains greyed here. Same if you capture any window anywhere with these keys
while XnView is open in View with no image, like I said already…
