When the option "Camera RAW" in reading mode is set "High Quality" and we are selecting somes thumbnails (Ctrl+Left Click) for do (cut/paste/delete/move/etc...) the small preview of the current thumbnail take VERY long time to be previewed (undecode RAW file). My propose is :
a) When you are multiselecting thumbnails only do the preview of the first thumbnail selected. Doing that, XnView don't need to undecode each new selected thumbnail -> mean faster for the selecting
b) For the mini preview of the thumbnail, why don't use directly the embeded jpeg in the RAW (if exist) instead of decode the RAW. Doing that it will accelerate the small preview

You have a setting for RAW in previewb) For the mini preview of the thumbnail, why don't use directly the embeded jpeg in the RAW (if exist) instead of decode the RAW. Doing that it will accelerate the small preview

A reminder that RAW loading on interruptible thread (like JPEG) would fit pretty well here...fun_msa wrote:When the option "Camera RAW" in reading mode is set "High Quality" and we are selecting somes thumbnails (Ctrl+Left Click) for do (cut/paste/delete/move/etc...) the small preview of the current thumbnail take VERY long time to be previewed (undecode RAW file).

Thanks GeorgD, I already discover this behavior, but it's look more like a strap just find a quick solution against multi-selection. This point could be debate a lot... but why don't let user to choose it just putting a check box in parameters ?GeorgD wrote:Yes, for example mefun_msa, just hide the preview pane or switch to another tab in preview pane (EXIF/...) or don't click on the image but click in a free space and make a rectangle for selection -- 3 possibilities to avoid to load each thumb.
