Yes, I don't use white, but grey (RGB 224 224 224), because there are other issues with other programs, therefore I can't change default Windows color to dark.xnview wrote:I use standard background color for list viewDreamer wrote:Oh yes, there is an option for thumbnails view background, but no option for other views and folder tree.ouistiti wrote:Please, don't forget that we need a configurable single background colour for the lists.
So, the users who prefer dark BG and light colours and those prefering the opposite will be happy !

Pierre.
Thanks, but please also font color, otherwise it will be useless.xnview wrote:Ok, i'll add background color for detail view...
What about other views? Is it possible to add just one option for all "other" (non-thumbnail) views?
Another problem, existing option to change background color for thumbnails view is useless, since option to change font color is missing - folder name font is always black, so it's not possible to use dark backgrounds.
Last question - what about folder tree? It will be looking odd - dark file list and preview and white folder tree.

• Hello !
• About the font for the lists, it's of course planned on my mock-up on the previous page…
• And I agree that the Folder-tree might be customizable too.
- There is a large room on its settings page… So, I could propose improvements there also,
please, just tell that you wish quite precisely, though I've a clue already
¤ However, there is a hitch currently for the tree-items :
1. We would have a configurable colour for the body of the tree (the lines) like now in Total Commander 7.0…
2. The icons for the tree-items (folders etc.) would come better from an external Icon¦bitmaps DLL to match the background,
but this is not supported (yet ?)
* Aside, talking of that, I asked for such a support elsewhere, unanswered till now… Pierre can get small bitmap-DLLs to test.

Nice folder-tree

• Forging ahead, I drew a mock-up for the Folder Tree - with colours and items settings - like shown below :
————

• The Preview is quite fake and hand-made, it should be indeed better from such a real dark background theme…

Temporarily…

• Thank you, but like I say, from a real theme should be better.Clo, it looks really nice…
• Of course as a GUI like this. I thought to a next version.…it's really too late for such advanced options.![]()
- However, these options could be tested as extra-INI entries,
since i.e. we need visible tree-body lines using a very dark BG. !
- They could be for instance :
• Unfortunately, the last important choice can't be tested as long as Pierre doesn't answer
TreePaneBG_Colour = colour code
TreeBodyColour = colour code
TreeFontColour = colour code
TreeFontFace = Tahoma, 8, normal
TreeBodyStyle = Flag
0 : Solid lines
1 : Dotted lines
2 : Dashed lines
about the use of external bitmap-resources DLLs

• Further, maybe another handier layout of the colours settings in the Options could be imagined,
maybe all grouped on a single Interface –> Colours page, except the colours by files types, though.
• A long way to go still

Ok, i'll add ColorFilter = *, ... for all other itemsDreamer wrote:Added in beta 6, thanks, but again, custom text color is needed too, a small example why:xnview wrote:Ok, i'll add background color for detail view...![]()
Edit: I think just custom font color for folders is needed, since there is no custom background color for files.
