Problem is this : open any archive in browser, double click any picture or media file to go to view mode and then select next or prevoius file and program will browse temp folder instead of archive.

Browsing Temp folder instead of archive in view mode
Moderators: helmut, XnTriq, xnview
XnView has to extract a file from an archive before it can view it so logically the next\previous image will be in the Temp folder. Nothing can be done to change this, unless XnView had it's own archive temp folder but then images from other archives would show up sooner or later.
This is one of the reasons I'm strongly against the archive feature, it leaves a mess in the Temp folder. Zero security for sensitive pictures.

I am not a programmer but I believe that anything is possible and I think there could be an easy fix for not redirecting browser to temp folder instead of archive.ckit wrote:...Nothing can be done to change this...
When I browse an archive if I middle click picture tab it will close fine and I will be back in my archive (browser tab). And that is good. The same should work if I double click the picture itself to close it... it should act the same as middle clicking the tab button itself and just close the picture tab and take me back to browser tab and not redirect browser to anywhere else.
Also you can not browse through pictures in archive when you are in picture tab. You only can view the one you clicked on. But you can scroll through pictures if you are in full screen. I do not see why it would not work in a tab as it does in full screen.
