'Installing' 1.90 beta 6?
Since 1.90 beta 6 doesn't come with an installer, do I just copy those files over my current install of 1.82.4 [in 'program files']? Will that be the same as installing it? Thanks.
Please note that 1.90 test versions (1.90 Beta 6 included) are intended for testing purposes, only. It is recommended for experienced users, only. See topic XnView 1.90 Beta 6 for more details.
You must not copy a test version over an installed, stable release.. Otherwise you will have no more stable version and later deinstallation might cause problems.
Instead, you just unpack the archive with the test version in any new folder and simply start it. (XnView does not need any installation to be runnable, but is more usable when integrated properly).

Oops, ah Helmut that's exactly how I run things on my rig, I drive straight over the top of a stable release. That way I know I'll wind up testing the beta version and not ignoring it but your advise is good for the kiddies

I see. I don't think I'm a kiddy, but even I have a stable release.ckit wrote:Oops, ah Helmut that's exactly how I run things on my rig, I drive straight over the top of a stable release.
