Command Line Scripting

Post by Russ Miller »

Thanks for reading this, and for your help.
I'm using xnview 1.68, and a win 98 machine.
i'd like to run a batch file to aquire an image from a camera using twain, but the command line syntax in the help menu is a little unclear to me.
Are there some command line examples? or can someone help me with this? Appreciate what help you can give...

To the best of my knowledge XnView does not support scripting although it has powerful batch image conversion.
I mentioned two scripting tools that I can reccommend on another topic yesterday.

XnView does support some command line options. They are listed in the dialog 'Command line options' which you open via 'Info/Command line help' in XnView.

If you want to script image conversions, there is NConvert which is part of the 'XnView family'. Depending on the XnView package you downloaded, NConvert is already on your computer, otherwise you can download it seperately on the XnView Download page.

Please see the group 'NConvert' for details and interesting posts, especially the topics and answers:

- Need more documentation
- Overwite files.. which parameter?

Hope this helps.

Printing support will be very usefull. Please add command line switch for printing, example "/pt" or "/p" (like microsoft apps).
