Hello,
I get only nasty crashes when trying to print 23 Mo BMP picture, does anyone met the same probrem ?
Note : no difference when setting "use printer offline" in printer config or trying to print.
When "use printer offline" I see 260 to 1024 bytes only to print.
Could iut be a xnview problem ?
The small version of the same picture prints without trouble.
Config :
xnview 1,822 and 1,824
W98se fully patched + 512 Mo ram (never crash).
Not process running in background
Athlon 64
Plenty of room on HD
Printers : hp lj6, hp dj 970c.
Process :
load the 23 Mo BMP
Print -> get the printer config screen but only click "OK" -> select printing to 9x15 cm -> "OK" -> immediate "xnview will be stopped because it did an illégal opération" + "Probleme with the printer".
Config.sys and autoexec.bat seems not to be concerned because trouble is the same when running the computer in "safe mode".
Paint is unable to print such a big file but GIMP can do it.
Any idea ?
Cordialement.

Convert

• You might convert your huge BMP into PNG (same colour depth), then print the PNG…
- PNG is lossless, and the size'll be reduced by… bhuuuuuuuuuu !

Thanks for your answer.
I investigated the problem : it is found to occurs to all and only HP printers.
I recently installed a hp picturemate D7160 (really nice tool !) and tried to print a small photo :
Immediate "an error occured and xnview will close".
Canon printers works OK.
Does anyone can prind with an HP printer under w98se ?
Cordialement.
