reset of printer-settings for each Print in print dialogue

i'm using XnView beta 5 and what is really boring me, is that the printer settings must set up again for each time you open the print dialogue.



I have installed cetain printers.
During the same session of XnView, i have to setup the printer-preferences several times for new, because each time, when i open the print dialogue, the first printer in the list is selected and all the preferences are resetted.

The default printer is also neckleckted, the first printer in the list will be focussed.

I would propose:

1. When XnView starts up, the default printer should focussed in the list.
2. During one session of XnView, (the changed) printing preferences should be remembered.

it seems, that this is my fault, because i had equate the printer in the popup-list as the printer which will be used for printing.
Sorry.



But it is still a litte bit irritating for me.
Maybe you could add a info-field with current printer or so...

Anyway, always the default printer is set when opening the print dialogue.
This is different to the former versions, where the printer preferences are remembered for the actual XnView session.

Hello Pierre,

thank you for changing the popup-list behaviour for the printer settings.

Unfortunately i am still unhappy with the print dialogue, because all the printer preferences get resetted to defaults when closing the print dialogue.

For instance, i am using a network printer (Protrait, A3)
When i change the preferences in the print dialogue to landscape, A4, the next time i open the print dialogue, the settings are back to defaults (protrait, A3).

Another point is, that my local preferences for the network printer adjusted to a size of DIN-A4.
The printer preferences, XnView uses, are obviously not the local settings, because the size is resetted to DIN-A3 (which are the network-defaults).

Is it possible to use the local printer-preferences for default and remembering the printer-preferences during the current session of XnView - like it was in the previous versions?

As an upgrade, it could use a "Remember Settings" option (add checkbox - "remember the last print settings"?)

It could be interesting for us to have 2 options.

This is supposed to be fixed in XnView 1.90 final. sunhill, could you please verify and confirm?
