Looping in a folder

Post by Guest »

I hate to bring up that other image program, but one thing it can do is loop through a folder.

If I have a folder of images named from A to Z, when I get to Z and click NEXT FILE I want to go back to A again. If there's a way to do it, it's certainly not obvious.

Plus, I think the Lanczos filter should be the default.

Absolutely. For new XnView users (with no xnview.ini file), Lanczos filter is the default. When using new XnView version with old xnview.ini file, the old filter settings is used (which is surely not Lanczos since it was not available in old versions).

Works @ home

Post by Clo »

:) Hello !
¤ That works just fine as expected @ home : when the last file of the dir is reached, "Next file" opens again the first file in the folder, as a loop.
- You might try to use <Space-bar> / <Back-space> or <Page Up/Down> keys to browse the folder in this mode…

I want to be able to use the Forward and Back buttons on the toolbar. As you can see, it doesn't work.

You are correct, it would seem "Loop on the file list" no longer works.
I've checked my settings and "Loop on the file list" is enabled.

Ok, I've tried disabling/enabling cache options in the file list area - still doesn't work. I've tried two different folders of files - still doesn't work. I've tried setting XnView to use INI config instead of registry and still no difference.

Not the buttons

Post by Clo »

:) Hi !
¤ I didn't say that it works with the buttons. I said that "Next File" opens the first file again after the last of the dir. It works with <Space-bar> / <Back-space> or <Page Up/Down>. Space-bar and Page Down are alright the next file following the XnView shortcuts.

¤ It's the same with DeLuxe, that works only from the keys.
* I don't remember if it worked in old versions from the buttons, I've no longer anyone installed…
Image or design ?

Yes, you're right the "next key" and "previous key" work fine. I can't believe I didn't check that, it's just the toolbar buttons that don't work.
