I use version 1.90.2 with default skin / tool bar.
In the Default and View modes, the second button (cmd_browse) takes me to the File Open Window. This button has a tool-tip description 'Open'.
In the Browser mode, the first button (the EYE icon : cmd_openview) takes me to the Viewer mode. This button ALSO has the tool-tip description 'Open'.
The same tool-tip description of 'Open' is used for two different commands/buttons/contexts.
The second description may be be considered for changing to 'Viewer', which also matches with the description of 'Browser' used for viewer first button (cmd_openview).
XnView is a program, becoming indispensable on my desktop. Thanks to Pierre for this wonderful software calling for very few resources.
