At options, view, view tab, label high quality zoom, two check boxes appear for high quality zoom for enlargement and reduction.
I don't remember if the installation turned them on or not.
After experimenting with them, I have noticed that the high quality setting significantly slowed display of the zoomed area on my machine, and turning the boxes off significantly sped up the display.
The high quality off setting seemed to work fine for me.
Anyone with slow zooms should check this setting.
