Delete Current File in Slide Show, more

Post by Daniels »

It would be nice if the long-standing HELP TIP 'All the key combinations valid in the Image View mode, can also be used in Slide shows and Full screen mode.' were actually true and some of that stated functionality were truly available while in a Slide Show.

This could be implemented either as individual commands [as has been implied in the Help File] or perhaps with just a single key that temporarily interrupts the slide show, gives a menu of choices that could then be applied as desired, and then allows the slide show to easily be continued from the point of interruption.

Some actions that could be taken:
  • o Delete the currently displayed file from the drive.
o Copy/Move currently displayed file to a user-specified folder [that remains as the default].
o Remove the currently displayed file from the running instance of the Slide Show [leaving file on disk].
o Save the Current Slide Show fileset as an .SLD file.
o Rename the currently displayed file on the drive.
o Rotate the currently displayed image and save the file on the drive.
o Edit attributes of the currently displayed file [brightness, contrast, etc.] and save the file.
o Restart Slide Show from beginning.
o Resume Slide Show from interrupted point.
My sense of the matter is that this couldn't be done with HotkeyP because the current filespec could not easily be grabbed and having not used HotkeyP I'm unsure of the ramifications of the slide show continuing to run while any delete confirmation dialog is displayed. If someone knows in fact that this could be done with HotKeyP, I would look into that further.
