FireFox is dying ... !

Post by SZOMM »

Dear alternate-browser fans, in the future there will be no longer support for the firefox-project. Check out the mozilla-homepage to confirm this message.
The new browser is ...
SEAMONKEY, the child of FireFox !
Check out there for download...
I use this new browser for some weeks and i find:
- He is MUCH faster than Firefox
- The configuration is more userfriendly
- It has an inbuild website-editor
... I like him !

Have a nice day ...

isn't it "just another" mozilla suite, not as much a replacement of Firefox?
Take the time to appreciate the nature around you.

SZOMM,
Seamonkey is the successor to Netscape it is NOT a replacement for Firefox. The successor for Firefox is XMLRunner, last time I checked.

Seamonkey is the successor to the mozilla suite, and is sort of a sibling to netscape and a cousin to firefox. Netscape made it's code open source, the mozilla group took it and developed it, in the process they made the mozilla suite (which was reportedly never designed for actual use, just to test the code), improvements in mozilla were fed back to netscape as the 2 grew side by side, firefox (originally phoenix) came out in response to mozilla suite's slowness, firefox became the "official" browser from the mozilla group, the mozilla suite software was handed over to a new group who continued to develope it as seamonkey.

A huge flaw in all the netscape/mozilla/seamonkey/etc browsers is that the toolbars can be collapsed, but not customized. this leads to a lot of wasted screenspace.
