I have unchecked show video files in preview but they still show. Can this be fixed?

I've tried to reproduce your problem. When unchecking Video files (in "Options > Tools > Browser > File List") the videos are no longer played in the preview area, but they are still shown. This may not 100% what one would expect because it says "Show in preview", but I think this behaviour is o.k.. The only problem that I can see might be performance for loading the video player, but from if I understand right in most cases the internal video player is used. Do you experience problems with the preview?

i dont want it to even show video image in preview because it slows down a bit to generate the preview image for the video. so i would like nothing in preview for videos--which is what i expect from that setting.

Hmm, currently there is one setting only. There are two behaviours:

a.) Have a preview of the video and wait a bit (?) for the preview
b.) Have no preview at all

Either we find a way to have two settings or a decision must be made what the option does (a. or b.).

unfortunately "b.) Have no preview at all" still previews screen pic and slows thing down :(

Does it slow down significantly? When viewing .mpg and .avi files I don't notice any difference (admitting that I have not tested much).

So here we must have another setting, perhaps a 'No first frame for video'??
