Assignment of keywords to selected images

I'm user of XnView 1.90.2, and I must say, that it is a great difference to the older one which I know before, a lot of features are new and helpful.

But I had the following problem: I want to categorize my images (not only fotos but also scans) and had found the possibility to create an individual category list with a suborder hierarchy. The list can I edit according to my private keywords, that's very fine, but how the assignment to the figures works?

A quality management of several selected images is in the german version by the following pulldown menu available: "Betrachter" - "Ansicht" - "Bewertung/Farbbewertung". Neither for a single figure nor for various figures I have found a similar pulldown-way for the assignment of the categories. I'm sure that I have overlooked something but neither in the help menu nor in the forum I have found the answer.

Because I used various image programs with a lot of incombatible databases in the background, it seems helpful when the categorization of the figures can be additionally stored in the IPTC-information. Is there a chance for this?
