Is there a way to print EXIF data for each image?

Printing EXIF

Post by Alan »

Excellent. Thankyou. However, in Preview the image is not in the same orientation as the thumbnails on the main screen. It is either rotated by 90 deg. (landscape) or 180 deg (portrait). When printed, the EXIF data is vertical and on the left or right edge of the image in landscape and in the correct orientation in portrait but with image upside down. Is there a simple explanation for this?

Can the EXIF data be printed as a separate function on a separate sheet?

Could you post the picture used?

Printing EXIF

Post by Alan »

I have a confession to make. I did not realise that the print preview in XnView is a function of the printer driver. My son pointed this out (who is a bit brighter at these things) and it is obvious really. He has no problem with his images in XnView preview. The printer I am using is a 1200 dpi mono laser (Brother HL-1250) until I decide upon a colour printer. But the portrait images are still upside down with the EXIF text the correct way up and (my son tells me) this may depend on the printer driver triggering point. There seems to be no obvious way to remedy this (except buying a new printer).

EXIF printing: I would be nice if one could print the EXIF data (or Properties or Histogram) on a separate sheet so that the data cold be printed on the reverse of the printed image. This would mean that camera imprinted date & time would not be required and would therefore not mar the printed photograph. Note: At the moment the EXIF data is centrally justified. Would it be possible to have a right justification option?

Thank you for an excellent program. I have recommended it to all my friends.

The only solution is to export EXIF data as text file, and print it
